The Lower North Shore is made up of a cluster of suburbs lying around the northern fringes of the Sydney Harbour foreshore. And with Sydney Harbour as your playground you don’t need to spend much on entertainment – just hop on a ferry and explore the harbour for a great day out.
Suburbs on the Lower North Shore score well for public transport with their excellent all-round access to trains, buses and ferries. The new metro line between Chatswood and the city’s North West extends the area’s transport connections.
Like most areas of inner Sydney, driving around the Lower North Shore and into the city can be fraught with difficulty at peak travel times, and motorists are encouraged to ditch their cars in favour of public transport.
