By your engagement of our services, software platforms (including but not limited to your use of the website located at www.urbanrenters.com.au and/or any of our software applications (collectively, the Platform) engaging our services, or providing this information to us in person or over the telephone, you consent to the collection, storage, use and distribution of your Personal Information in accordance with this Privacy Policy and as otherwise permitted by the Privacy Act.

We collect Personal Information from you which may at times include names, e-mail addresses, mobile telephone numbers, physical addresses, credit card or debit card information, identification documents (including licence or passport), employment history, rental history, references, police checks, credit history checks, remuneration, utility bills, council rates and levies for investment properties and information regarding your activity on the Platform.
We or our contracted third party software providers may collect and use certain information, which by itself is not capable of identifying you. This information may include your gender, date of birth, the identity of your Internet browser, the identity of your smartphone or tablet device, the type of operating system you use, your IP address and the domain name of your Internet service provider and/or mobile phone carrier to optimise our provision of goods and/or services to you. We may also acquire information from other sources, such as from other companies and from other public documents.
4. Purpose of Collecting Personal Information
- to provide our services with respect to acting for tenants in lease negotiations and facilitating transactions of leases;
- to provide customer support for current and prospective tenants by making and responding to enquires, comments or complaints;
- to conduct research and property searches for current and prospective tenants to find suitable property listings; and
- to manage and carry out operational functions including marketing and business decisions.

If you do not provide us with this Personal Information, we may not be able to perform our business functions.
There are a number of ways in which we collect Personal Information from you, most commonly through:

- we need to do so to enable us to carry out our business functions, which may involve disclosure to agents, landlords, tenants and their authorised representatives;

- we are required to provide it to our Related Entities;

Cross-Border Disclosure of Personal Information
At times we may need to share your Personal Information with persons or organisations based overseas . The most common reason is because some of our landlords or tenants are based overseas or some of our third party service providers or contractors (ie cloud storage and Platform service providers) are located overseas and are contracted to support our goods, technology, operational and customer service teams.
These entities are likely to be located in the following countries:

7. Security of Personal Information
We will hold your Personal Information both electronically on our servers and in hard copy at our offices.
We strive to ensure the security, integrity and privacy of your Personal Information and will use all reasonable endeavours to keep your Personal Information in a secure environment.
